Miessence Complete Protein powder
Miessence Complete Protein powder is an easily digestible, extremely high protein, low carbohydrate, optimally balanced amino acid profile, superfood. Just one 25 gram serving provides almost 2/3 of the daily Essential Amino Acid requirement for a 70kg person!
Protein is a vital macronutrient – essential for the sustenance of life, and next to water, makes up the largest portion of our body weight. The liver manufactures about 80% of these amino acids, but the remaining 20% of such amino acids must be supplied directly by diet, and these amino acids are referred to as the essential
amino acids. Proteins are broken down in the stomach during digestion into amino acids, including the essential amino acids that cannot be biosynthesised by the body itself.
Amino acids are the building blocks of our bones, muscles and tissue. It is important to note that, unlike fat and carbohydrates that can be stored in the body and utilised as required, protein cannot be stored; so it is vital to consume the appropriate amount of protein on a daily basis.
Amino acids are found in animal sources such as meats, milk, fish and eggs, as well as in plant sources such as grains, legumes, fruits, nuts and seeds. Vegetarians and vegans can get enough essential amino acids by eating a variety of plant proteins.
The consequences of inadequate protein intake includes muscle loss, decreased metabolic rate, decreased immunity, impaired wound healing, and loss of skin elasticity.
Choosing a diet rich in selected plant proteins eliminates the risks of saturated fats found in animal protein, allergic reactions and lactose intolerance due to whey protein and digestive difficulty with soy protein.
Miessence Complete Protein blends well with water, juice, any milk of choice (we don’t recommend soy, but that’s another story) and yoghurt, or it can be added to your smoothie.
It can also be mixed into your homemade energy bars, balls, muffins, pancakes, desserts, and baked goods and stirred into hot cereals after cooking.
While you can add this powder to a variety of recipes, raw food enthusiasts will want to avoid cooking or heating it in order to preserve it’s nutritional value.
Protein quality is dependent on having all the essential amino acids in the proper proportion. If one or more amino acids are not present in sufficient amounts, the protein in a food is considered incomplete. Diets that are very low in protein or that are very restrictive in the types of protein consumed (e.g., vegetarian diets) may not provide complete protein.
The following table lists the optimal profile of the essential amino acids, which comprises a complete protein, as recommended by the Institute of Medicine’s Food and Nutrition Board. Miessence Complete Protein meets this standard:
Our bodies use amino acids in a specific ratio to each other. If we don’t get enough of one of them to match with the others, they can only be utilised at the level of the lowest (limiting) one. These are called limiting amino acids, because if our diet is deficient in one of them, this will limit the usefulness of the others, even if they are eaten in large quantities.
So, the net protein utilization of eating only one protein source (rice, for instance) is affected by the limiting amino acid content of that source. Our protein powder has a complete amino acid profile from complementary sources of grain, legume and seed, making up for the deficiencies of the limiting amino acid from each source.

Question: Is DeepGreen recommended for expectant mothers?
Answer: In regards to the DeepGreen and its ingredients, Dr. Hills introduced spirulina to the world in 1979. This was the result over over 40 years of research done by Dr. Hills. Never once was spirulina not recommended for pregnant mothers. In fact just the opposite, we have always recommended to mothers to eat spirulina and in my 25 years being associated with spirulina I have never heard a negative comment about spirulina in this relation. In a book written by Robert Henrikson called Earth Food Spirulina I quote the following paragraph.
"Pregnant women need extra protein and iron, without too much additional fats and carbohydrates, and because of this, spirulina is a perfect whole food supplement for them. In India and Vietnam, spirulina is specifically promoted for nursing mothers."
In InLiven and DeepGreen we only use the best quality certified organic spirulina.
Question: Are Miessence Superfoods recommended for babies
Answer: You can start children at any age on our superfoods. Most of our customers tend to start them at the age of 2 years old. It is a good idea to start on just 1/4 of a teaspoon of each superfood and monitor it from there. You can always up the dose after a few weeks.
Question: How should I take DeepGreen?
Answer: Mix in water or juice, preferably freshly squeezed fruit or vegetable juices. Can also be blended with a fruit smoothie, sprinkled over foods and used in salad dressings.
Question: Is DeepGreen gluten free? Is it raw and vegan?
Answer: Yes, all Miessence Certified Organic products are raw and vegan. They are gluten free with the exception of InLiven.
Wheat grass is an ingredient in Miessence DeepGreen Superfood. It is gluten free.
The gluten protein originates in the grain of sprouted wheat. It is not found in wheat grass.

Question: How should I take BerryRadical?
Answer: Sprinkle directly onto food, or mix in juice or your favourite warm beverage or smoothie.
Question: Does the coffee berry or cacao contain caffeine and if so how much? Would you consider the Berry Radical a stimulant in any sense?
Answer: Interesting research on caffeine in the field of homeopathy indicates caffeine's stimulating effect when cooked, but not when eaten raw. One experiment conducted with a decoction of roasted ground cacao beans in boiling water produced an excitement of the nervous system similar to that caused by black coffee and an excited state of circulation, demonstrated by an accelerated pulse. Notably, when the same decoction was made with raw, unroasted cacao beans neither effect was noticeable.
A cup of tea contains an average of 40mg of caffeine, compared to 85mg as found in a cup of freshly brewed coffee.A cup of hot chocolate usually contains about 4 or 5 milligrams of caffeine, which is about 1/20 that of a cup of regular coffee.A serving of Berry Radical contains about 6mg of caffeine, about as much as in a hot chocolate, but considering the coffee berry and cacao in Berry Radical are raw, we can assume there will be no stimulant effect.
Question: Is BerryRadical raw and vegan?
Question: Is InLiven recommended for expectant mothers?
Answer: Pregnant women should eat at least 2 teaspoons a day of In-Liven. In-Liven is just a food and as such there is no problem with concentration of nutrients. Nutrients are what a baby needs to develop.
In-Liven is great during pregnancy. There is nothing like starting life with the best protection. If the baby is born by caesarean section apparently it is a good idea to get the baby on In-Liven as soon as possible as the babies immune system is compromised because it did not come through the birth canal.

Question: Is InLiven recommended for children?
Answer: Children up to 2 years old will do well with a 1/2 teaspoon. After that 1 teaspoon a day works well. When cold and flu season rolls around you may want to increase to boost immune system.
Children have less requirements for nutrients than adults because of weight and age. Anytime after age 12 I would say they could eat 3 teaspoons a day and be able to utilize all the goodness. This is an estimate since each child has different needs due to size and dietary habits. If a younger child eats 3 teaspoons it will not do any harm since InLiven is just a food. When the body receives excess nutrients in the form of foods it just eliminates any it can not use or store. So we try to find a balance so we do not waste any of the goodness in InLiven.
Question: How many CFUs in InLiven and FastTract?
Answer: The last test for FastTract shows 256 million CFU’s per gram in comparison to In-Liven which is 40-50 million CFU’s per gram. All the bacteria in Fast Tract are the same that are in InLiven.
Question: When should InLiven be taken?
Answer: All probiotics should be taken 30 minutes before a meal.
Question: How should I take InLiven?
Answer: Our product can be taken with water or juice and the bacteria will arrive alive in the gut and will then migrate to the area in which they live. Bacteria inhabit different regions of the body. It is not recommend to have with boiling water as it can harm the bacteria. It is also not recommended to be consumed with any dairy products.
Question: Why does InLiven have Gluten? Can people with an intolerance use this?
Answer: Our approach to the gluten problem is to address the cause. We do this in a one-two punch. First use the FastTract for a few weeks then move on to the InLiven which has the broad spectrum nutrients along with the probiotics to provide the raw materials for the body to rebuild itself.
The 3 week fermentation (predigestion) process breaks down the proteins in the product any many intolerant people do not have a problem with InLiven. However I always err on the side of caution and anyone exhibiting these symptoms of gluten intolerance. I recommend drinking a bottle of FastTract first week and the following week start with 1/8 teaspoon to see how they go and adjust accordingly.
Question: Does InLiven need to be refrigerated?
Answer: You do not have to store In-Liven in the fridge either opened or unopened. However like all foods it will last the longest stored that way. If you do not use the fridge store in a dark place like the cupboard. We have product that we store in the warehouse that we test from time to time that after 6 years is still viable.
Question: Can InLiven survive extreme heat and extreme cold which may occur in transit?
Anwser: The bacteria in InLiven can withstand temperatures of +50 C for a week and -20C for a week.
Question: Can there be a detox reaction when using InLiven?
Answer: Some individuals experience a dextox reaction with InLiven, such as constipation and diarrhoea.
InLiven contains foods that are abundant in Chlorophyll. This is nature's detoxifier. When the toxins are released in the body then the body in order to protect itself surrounds the toxins with water. Hence diarrhea. The bacteria start to cleanse the intestinal tract and the debris lodged there drops into the bowels and can cause constipation.
These two responses are temporary. There are two ways to assist or deal with this:
Question: Is InLiven raw and vegan?
Answer: Yes, all Miessence Certified Organic products are raw and vegan.
Question: Is InLiven safe for pets?
Answer: Like people, dog and cats need probiotics and nutrients. Some of our customers feed their cats and dog InLiven powder by added 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoon a day to their food. They have told us their pets love it and demand it if their owners forget.
The results will vary from pet to pet. Customers have told us that their animals' eyes are shiny and coats glossy and lots of energy.
Question: What is the difference between InLiven and FastTract?
Answer: InLiven and FastTract are two completely different products. InLiven is a nutrient dense product designed to supply the broad spectrum of nutrients the body needs daily in order to get its job done. FastTract is a liquid that is potent in bacteria to rebuild the intestinal flora quickly and is gluten free for those who have allergies. The FastTract used in combination with In-Liven is like adding a super charger to boost the bacteria and quickly colonize the gut.
You can not replace the powder with the liquid. You can go without the liquid but never the powder. If you mix the powder in apple juice it tastes great.
InLiven is the mainstay. You need it every day to supply the vital nutrients. Fast Tract should be used during your quarterly 10-14 day clean out in conjunction with InLiven or anytime you are under extreme stress or antibiotic therapy.
Question: Do you have the vitamin and mineral analysis of InLiven?
Answer: The reason professionals ask this is because they are use to dealing with man made synthetic isolated vitamins. Which, by the way, are treated as toxic by the body and eliminated. They have to understand that InLiven is a food. It contains 26 living whole foods and each food contains thousands of phyto-nutrients. Hence it is not economically feasible to analyse every single nutrient in each whole food. It would be like going into a grocery store and asking the vitamin content of every apple in the store.
We need to educate people as to the value of whole food nutrients vs man made synthetics.
Question: Is FastTract recommended for children?
For Fast Tract and babies it is recommended to start with 5ml once a day.
Question: When should the probiotics be taken? What are some serving suggestions?
Fast Tract - 25mL one to three times a day. Dilute with water, freshly squeezed juices, add to recipes, use in smoothies and salad dressings, or drink neat. You can also use it in your favourite gluten-free bread recipe.
Question: Can FastTract survive extreme heat and extreme cold which may occur in transit?
Answer: If you freeze Fast Tract then thaw it you will kill around 5%-10% of the bacteria. So there is no need to worry. There are 250 million plus colony forming units per gram in a bottle of Fast Tract. Each colony is made up of thousands of bacteria hence it will not adversely effect the effectiveness of the product. Give the survivors a little hug and let them know you will not be freezing the rest of them.
The bacteria in Fast Tract have been evolved to withstand 55C for a week. If that happens again then put it in the cupboard to cool slowly. Once at room temperature you can keep in fridge.
Question: If the Fast Tract has no fizz is it bad?
As you use Fast Tract and there is more space in the bottle the fizziness will not be as apparent. In other words the gases created by the bacteria have more room to go. The bacteria are still active and alive and the product is beneficial.
Question: Is FastTract raw and vegan?
Question: Can I take Miessence Complete Protein with other foods?
Answer: Yes you can! It is delicious with juices, you can add it to smoothies, yoghurt and mixed into your own home-made energy balls, pancakes, desserts and museli.
Question: How much of Miessence Complete Protein should I take?
Answer: This is dependent on so many factors - your age, your health, your weight and what you are looking to achieve (optimal health, weight increase, weight decrease, increased muscle mass). Our recommendation is based on a 70kg person receiving 2/3rds of their daily essential amino acid requirement from one 25g serve.
Question: How can I calculate how much Miessence Complete Protein I need?
Answer: The amount of protein you need in your diet depends on your gender, weight, age and health. The recommended requirement is between 800mg/kg – 1800mg/kg depending on activity levels (intense resistance and endurance athletes need 1300-1800mg/kg).
As a rough guide, the recommended dietary intake (RDI) for protein (measured in grams per kilogram of bodyweight) is 0.8g/kg. So, a 70kg person needs 56g of protein (0.8 x 70) per day.
The human body can’t store protein and will excrete any excess. Therefore, the most effective way of using the daily protein requirement is to eat small amounts at every meal. Using the example of the 70 kg person above, this would require that they eat approximately 18g of protein at three meals each day.
Question: When should I take Miessence Complete Protein Powder?
Answer: Always make sure you are supplementing, not replacing, whole food sources and meals. In general, no more than 2-3 protein shakes per day when you’re working out. The most effective times for drinking a protein shake is first thing in the morning, and immediately following your workout.
